This British bloke emerged in 2006 as part of the U.K.’s post-Streets geezer-rap craze, but last year he switched teams and released a post-Winehouse retro-soul disc called The Defamation of Strickland Banks. A huge commercial hit in England, it’s due out here on Atlantic in April. To soften the ground ahead of its release, he’s doing small-room shows this month in New York and L.A. Expect a lengthy guest list.
