Chinese Mother’s Oppression Immortalized in CGI Animation

Amy Chua, Yale Law professor and author of Battle Hymn of the Tiger Mother, lit up the internet over the weekend with a Wall Street Journal excerpt of her new book headlined, “Why Chinese Mothers Are Superior.” Her reasoning had something to do with playing the piano or violin. The above video takes some artistic license.

According to the animators at Taiwan’s NMA, Chua’s writing provoked “fierce backlash.” And so, obviously her avatar goes on to beat a white mother with a pan. She also breathes fire, whips her daughters (who wear prison uniforms) and smashes a TV. Then she laughs maniacally while throwing around piles of money. Sounds about right.
