Max Fish Hanging on for Another Year, Pink Pony “Pretty Sure” It Will, Too

Finally, some good news from the Lower East Side: Max Fish isn’t going anywhere. Yet. According to Paper, the Ludlow Street bar will not be closing January 30 following a rent dispute with its landlord. Instead, owner Ulli Rimkus has negotiated an agreement with her landlord that will allow her to remain for another year.

And it seems that Pink Pony, the bar’s subtenant next door, will also stick around for the duration: A worker we spoke with said that he’s “pretty sure” the restaurant won’t be closing — at least “that’s what we were told” — so even though Café Charbon is slated to become yet another douche dive, at least some of the neighborhood’s fixtures will retain their familiarity.
