Her soprano sax is known for flitting unpredictably through swing, so the graceful and electronically enhanced jitters that dot the new Wingwalker are par for the course. Bloom also disarms with melodic savvy and liquid interplay, and she’s at the helm of a foursome that works as one, with each of its members making the many turns in unison. Ballads such as “Adjusting to Midnight” remind us of her skills at amending the atmosphere of a room, but it’s her solo smooch from My Fair Lady that I can’t get out of my mind.
