The talented Melissa Leo is winning lots of awards for playing the big-haired, manipulative, and often destructive mother in The Fighter.
The real-life woman she plays had a heart attack a few days ago, but she’s rallying because she’s that kind of survivor.
Well, Melissa is suitably impressed and in fact says she’s thrilled to have played “an American heroine.”
I heard her say that in public just the other night.
Funny, I thought the woman was a complete monster!
Oh, well. You have to love your character, no matter what. After all, David Fincher told all the Social Network actors to think of their characters as the protagonist.
And that makes sense because in real life, that’s exactly how they acted!
