Over the past decade, the Concretes have grown from a trio of Swedish ladies into an eight-member, coed, indie-pop beast. Although they started out playing simple, Nico-inspired ditties, they became an orchestra of sorts on last year’s WYWH, more akin to Nico fronting the lavish, danceable music played by their homeland’s pop kings and dancing queens, Abba. That is, of course, if that group were strung-out on heroin like Nico. With Hooray for Earth and Acrylics.
