Are you sure your friend really destroyed that home video you made when you were 12? If not, it could end up in the wrong hands—that is, those of comedians Nick Prueher and Joe Pickett of the Found Footage Festival, who scour garage sales, thrift stores, warehouses, and dumpsters around the country for the most embarrassing, cringe-inducing videos they can find. Highlights at this year’s festival include self-hypnosis videos about how to be a better lover, businessman, and bowler; a chilling collection of ventriloquism how-to videos; a new compilation of exercise videos featuring Cher, Lyle Alzado, and the American Gladiators; and—drum roll, please!—a 1986 home movie from a scandalous weekend in Fort Lauderdale (we hope it wasn’t yours). And metalheads, rejoice! Also on the bill is Heavy Metal Parking Lot, a 25-year-old short documentary of Judas Priest fans hanging out (and making out) in a concert arena parking lot before the big show.
