The outspoken Omar S is responsible for keeping Detroit techno a vital musical force–he’s had some help from wunderkind Kyle Hall, but we seem to be losing the latter to dubstep. Like Ricardo Villalobos, he had the chutzpah and the chops to deliver a Fabric mix made up exclusively of his own tracks; even indie favorites Animal Collective have recognized his skills, picking Omar S as one of the artists for All Tomorrow’s Parties’ next American installment. Expect his set to perfectly balance soul and experimental, funk and mechanics. With residents Justin Carter and Eamon Harkin.
