Gabrielle Giffords is in the ICU at Memorial Hermann-Texas Medical Center due to a buildup of fluid in her brain, postponing her move to rehab temporarily, possibly until the end of the week. Doctors continue to say she’s improving. On Saturday, Giffords’ husband Mark Kelly tweeted that she was “Doing great in her new room.” [Houston Chronicle]

Jared Lee Loughner is in federal court today and may face additional charges in the killings of six people, along with the charges of three counts of attempted murder for shooting Giffords and two of her aides on January 8. [CNN]
