I’m recalling this band’s very vivid gigs at Dizzy’s last year, shows that brought extra sparkle to pieces from their impressive debut CD. Carter’s look into African folk music pulses enticingly, with the strings of kora, bass, guitar, and the leader’s virtuosic violin uniting in a swirl. The addition of accordion brings a cosmopolitan aura to the fetching rural vibe.
