Never take a cab in a snowstorm. This is advice we feel extremely strongly about. Best case scenario, it never goes well, and you will fear for your life more than once. Worst case scenario, your cab explodes. This happened last night.
New York Mag‘s Daily Intel points out that this was not the only cab explosion in New York City last night: “Another cab exploded up on Madison Avenue, between 79th and 80th — right around the corner from Mayor Bloomberg’s house.” Thankfully, no one got hurt. Nonetheless, we repeat: Never take a cab in a snowstorm. It’s just not worth it.
