Muse to Chanel and movie stars alike, French singer/model/actress Vanessa Paradis has spent a gracious lifetime in the public eye. In 1987, while barely a teenager, she had an international hit in the pop ditty “Joe le taxi,” an ode to a Parisian driver. Ten albums later, she remains one of the country’s most bankable stars, as last summer’s widely successful tour through France attested. Currently the face of Chanel cosmetics and handbags and the upcoming star of the film Café de flore, Paradis is taking her version of an international vacation: Her current tour includes her first-ever dates in the States and the first time she has performed in the United Kingdom in two decades. Perhaps her longtime partner, Johnny Depp, will be in tow.
