It seems that Ed McFarland, the crustacean impresario behind Ed’s Lobster Bar, has been busy working on the pizza parlor he’s planning to open in the Financial District sometime in the next few months. Now Zagat Buzz has stumbled across photographic proof of the chef’s labors, which he posted to his Twitter feed in late January. The above looks a little bit Sicilian, a little bit grandma, a lot tomato-y; other, slightly blurry Twitter shots show basil, char, and big, inviting blobs of mozzarella. McFarland, of course, got his start in a Staten Island pizzeria, so expect to see more illustrations of his humble origins in the months to follow.
