Battles was only the beginning. After leaving the New York post-rock collective, composer/singer/guitarist Tyondai Braxton vowed to focus on his experimental solo work, and tonight he’ll get a ringing endorsement from some like-minded conjurors, the Wordless Music Orchestra. His dense symphonics have been well represented in his inquisitive voice and steeped-pedal strings, but the additional creative ensemble will broach new territory in their selections from his 2009 Warp disc Central Market and new compositions. Perhaps he has finally set the Onion article devoted to him (see “Temp Hides Fun, Fulfilling Life From Rest of Office” discussing one “Ty Braxton”) into elegant quatrains. Part of the Tully Scope Festival.
