In Charlotte Chandler‘s imminent book Marlene, Douglas Fairbanks Jr. is quoted as saying that the great Dietrich was desperate to kill the diabolical dictator Hitler — naked.
The screen goddess’s plan was to go visit Hitler completely starkers and somehow murder him via seduction.
Alas, she couldn’t figure out what to hide in her cavity that would do the trick. A hairpin? Poison?
Never able to solve that key detail, Dietrich simply didn’t go ahead with the democracy-saving plan.
Maybe she should have just brought a print of The Garden of Allah and slayed him with boredom.
