In the two-plus years since a fire burned Paloma to the ground, Camille Becerra has played the role of wandering chef, hosting “secret” pop-up dinners and briefly touching down at APL, the still-unopened “urban American” restaurant on Orchard Street, before disagreements with the owners drove her away.
Now, it appears that the Top Chef alum has found a more permanent home: Per Black Book‘s Steve Lewis, Becerra is commandeering the burners at Hotel Chantelle, on Ludlow Street, a mere two blocks from APL. Billed as a hotel bar without the hotel, the place opened in November, and, courtesy of Becerra, will soon feature a French Colonial menu.
