Floyd Miller, a 25-year-old guy from Harlem, was shot outside the NoCo Bar & Lounge on the Upper West Side early Sunday during a raging brawl that broke out in the midst of two birthday parties. The fight spilled outside, and someone started shooting. Miller caught a ride to Harlem Hospital, 26 blocks away, where, bleeding heavily from a single wound, he staggered inside, collapsed, and died, cops say.
Miller was a thug, but his mom loved him.
The Daily News gives both sides a fair hearing:
“My son was a loving, caring, outgoing person,” his grieving mother said at her Harlem apartment Sunday. “He was killed for no reason.”
Investigators are trying to determine whether Miller, who has a sizable rap sheet, was targeted by the gunman. Miller had seven arrests on his record, including two for robberies in which he allegedly beat his victims and stole their jackets, a police source said.
