Dir. Agnès Jaoui (2000).
A wealthy industrialist attends a bad production of Racine’s Berenice and is incongruously smitten by the dour, no longer young, lead actress. Directing her first feature, Agnès Jaoui doesn’t sufficiently shake this oil and vinegar to make a truly zesty dressing but her droll situation comedy of male midlife crisis makes a pleasant time-passer.
