A few days after we remarked upon the flowers bedecking its facade, Souvlaki GR has opened to the public.
A walk by 116 Stanton Street this morning revealed that the papers had been removed from the restaurant’s windows, and Bowery Boogie brings word that it officially started serving the neighborhood at 11 a.m. BB also got a tour of the place, which the staff describe as “mini Mykonos”; too bad the weather on opening day is hardly reminiscent of the Greek isles.
Meanwhile, it looks like another anticipated food-truck storefront spin-off won’t be opening right on schedule: Although Schnitzel & Things was expected to open the doors to its Third Avenue restaurant today, its owners hit the Twitter to say that they’re hoping for tomorrow instead.
Judging by the fact that tickets for the Edible/Brooklyn Brewery food truck and beer pairing on Wednesday are completely sold out, we’re guessing that both places will have no shortage of foot traffic, regardless of when they open.
