James Taylor

by

Four decades after he first played Carnegie Hall (at age 22), folk legend James Taylor leads a gala celebration of the music venue’s 120-year history. The hefty price tag may be worth it, though, if only to see Taylor’s guests–including Steve Martin, Bette Midler, Kevin Pollak, Dianne Reeves, and, uh, Sting–attempt to test the venue’s acoustics. If this blowout isn’t enough, check Carnegie Hall’s calendar for Taylor’s three more programs scheduled through early May, including one on his musical roots, a conversation about guitar playing, and “The Quintessential James Taylor and His Band.”
