Mamoun’s, that stalwart of Lower Manhattan falafel consumption, it taking its chickpeas to New Jersey. Hussam Chater, who owns Mamoun’s with his brothers, tells us that the restaurant opened a new outpost yesterday in Hoboken. Located at 502 Washington Street, it offers the same menu as Mamoun’s two Manhattan locations, as well as new items like seasoned rice, olives, pickles, feta, and turnips. There are also fountain drinks like mango, tamarind, and blackberry juices, and — amazingly, for anyone familiar with Mamoun’s limited square footage — more seating.
