Alycia Lane, dubbed by the New York Post “a Long Island-born stunner and drama magnet,” is suing her former employer, CBS, and (maybe) paramour, now-New York City anchor Larry Mendte for damaging her reputation after the co-anchors’ affair went sour. She’s done plenty to chip away at her honor all alone: she emailed bikini pics of herself to NFL anchor Rich Eisen and got caught, and later, smacked a police officer in the face while yelling, “I am a reporter, you fucking dyke bitch!” Lane was fired, obviously. Mendte was let go by the Philadelphia station where they worked together soon after for sneaking onto Lane’s computer and leaking her secrets to gossip columns. This was back in 2008, but the pair continues to embarrass themselves today.
Lane claims that she and Mendte were never romantic, but he says he kissed her once in 2004, then they made out while she was just wearing a bra. (These are adults.) Mendte says he was not stranded at first base: One time, “Alycia unhooked her seat belt and — actually, while I was driving, straddled me and started kissing me, and we — I pulled off to the side of the road and that continued for a while. There was some fondling.”
Lane would then text him “1-4-3,” meaning “I love you,” during newscasts, Mendte says.
Lane says Mendte is merely “a sociopathic narcissist.” But he gave gifts! A frog dressed as a prince, from Starbucks, to be specific.
At recess he’s totally going to pull her hair. The trial, in a real court, is set to start next month.
