The video for “Friday” by Rebecca Black has amassed over 87 million YouTube clicks with its smiley-faced wholesome shit and overreliance on autotune.
That’s even more people than stopped to look at a fiery car wreck I noticed on the highway the other day.
And the video is now such a classic bit of horrible “fun, fun, fun, fun, fun, fun” that it’s inspired a satirical homage.
Someone calling herself Sybil Black has weighed in with “Sunday,” a poignant tribute to church service, collection boxes, worshiping Jesus, and of course smiley-faced wholesome shit and an overreliance on autotune.
Let’s click on it a lot of times so it can beat “Friday.”
