Kurve’s Neighbors Aren’t Buying This ‘Craft Beer’ Thing

The Kurve space’s curious saga continues today, courtesy of the East Fifth Street Block Association.

EV Grieve reports that the group is planning to oppose the liquor license application filed by Tom O’Byrne, who is planning to open a craft-beer-focused restaurant/bar in the space. Somewhat unsurprisingly, its members, who are still smarting from memories of Sin Sin, don’t want another licensed establishment on their block, particularly one that closes at 3:30 a.m. And they don’t seem to care about the provenance of its beers, either.

Despite the fact that O’Byrne, who is part of the team behind Sláinte and Dempsey’s, has met with members of the association, they’re still planning to oppose him at next Monday’s CB3 SLA meeting. Given the hell they gave Sasha Petraske, O’Byrne may want to gird his loins for battle.
