The South Slope’s culinary facelift continues apace, thanks to the opening of Der Kommissar, a restaurant bringing Austrian sausages and beer to the neighborhood. Per Brownstoner, it soft-opens tonight, and when it does, customers will find (according to the restaurant’s website) a “Brooklyn twist on an Austrian institution, the Würstelstand.” In addition to the wieners, there will be eight draft beers, a variety of schnapps, and such Austrian staples as liptauer cheese, sauerkraut, and pretzels. Also, if photos on the website are to be believed, there will be garden gnomes.
