Fela’s number-one son used to throw down a less politically outspoken and musically more economical version of his late father’s Afrobeat. But the lyrics on Femi’s new Africa for Africa are consistently engaged and enraged, and the best of its 14 tracks contain nearly as many memorably massive horn riffs and polyrhythmic epiphanies as Fela’s side-long workouts. The mighty 10-piece Positive Force band, not to mention its gyrating dancers, shouldn’t be trifled with, either. With Nutritious.
