Taxi Driver Jumps From Williamsburg Bridge?

Police responded to a call this morning reporting that someone had jumped off the Williamsburg Bridge after leaving his vehicle. A call to the Office of the Deputy Commissioner, Public Information (DCPI) gave no new information and details are “unknown” at this time. Smartcrew tweeted that it is a “Confirmed male jumper. Brooklyn bound lane. Cab driver abandoned taxi and jumped off bridge.” NYbuff is reporting that as of 11:51 a.m., the police are “requesting units to secure the vehicle that the jumper has abandoned on the bridge.” The bridge is apparently “shut down” as officers search the water. We’ll update as more information becomes available.
