Taking a page from both Jeffrey’s Grocery and Eataly, Iacopo Falai is getting into the retail business.
Diner’s Journal reports that the chef-owner of Falai, Caffe Falai, and Falai Panetteria will open an Italian specialty store, called Bottega Falai, next Thursday. It will be stocked with Italy’s greatest hits, including olive oils, cheeses, cured meats, dried porcini mushrooms, and fancy pasta. There will also be sandwiches and pastries, which leads us to believe that this may become Soho’s version of Eataly, minus the square footage, tropical fruit, tourists, and hubris.
