Two years ago, Beer Table announced its plans to open a retail store in the Chelsea Market. Those plans never materialized, but now it looks like the Park Slope restaurant, which is known for its extensive selection of craft beers, has moved on to grander pastures.
Crain’s reports that Beer Table owner Justin Philips has signed a seven-year lease for a space in Grand Central Terminal’s Graybar Passage. The retail store will focus on growlers, but will also offer vinegars, mustards, and other ingredients conducive to cooking with beer. Bottled beers will have an international slant, while the beer in the growlers will come from regional producers.
Philips expects the store to open within a couple of months; when it does, expect train delays and signal malfunctions to become slightly more tolerable.
