Richard Branson, the eccentric billionaire and chairman of the Virgin group, is planning one of the most extravagant displays of socially conscious wealth we’ve ever seen. The New York Post says that he wants to fill one of his privately owned islands with endangered lemurs in order to build up their population. We know all about Branson’s islands thanks to the most educational show of all time — MTV Cribs. You know, that Priciest Pads countdown that’s hosted by Kimora Lee Simmons that MTV plays on rainy Sundays? Well, just in case you’ve never stuck around to watch the whole thing, Branson’s Necker Island home is number one! In the episode, Mariah Carey chills on his couch drinking some wine. It would be so much better for everyone if a lemur was sitting on Mariah’s head. But we have a word of strong caution for Mr. Branson.
Do not put any Sifaka lemurs on your island:
Just look at these creatures jump around — they’re like little ninjas! Imagine a whole island full of mini-ninjas.
A wiser choice would be an island full of slow loris.
An island full of nice bug eyed creatures that love being tickled? That sounds more like our kind of thing.
