Politics and spirit coexist artfully in the music of folk-rocker Bruce Cockburn, Canada’s finest Christian protest singer. Songs on his 31st and most recent album, Small Sources of Comfort, were inspired by time he spent with Canadian Forces soldiers in Kandahar. Violinist/songwriter Jenny Scheinman accompanies Cockburn following a solo set of her typically sly, luminous downtown-style folk magic.
