I just got back from the Friars Club, where Today Show fourth-hour hosts Kathie Lee Gifford and Hoda Kotb were celebrated with a luncheon and an onstage interview.
And Kathie Lee revealed that among their viewers, “There are a lot of drag queens.”
“If drag queens love you,” she added, “you’ll have the longest career in the world.
“They know phony and they know real!”
Especially when it comes to body parts.
Kathie Lee also talked about what she felt was a phony accusation about her fashion line indulging in sweatshop conditions back in 1996.
“Frank and I were about to open a $14 million home for AIDS babies,” she remembered.
“To be accused of being basically a child molester when you’ve been a child advocate your whole life is surreal.
“I thought, ‘If this is America, I don’t want to teach my children to believe in it.’
“That’s not the America I grew up in!”
She added that she stuck to her guns and laws were changed for the better.
“God would say, ‘There must be a reason for it.'”
She should hire drag queens!
