The summer jazz season often starts with a visit from the Argentine pianist (and former New Yorker) that reconvenes one of jazz’s most novel big bands. The idiosyncrasies are many in Klein’s imaginative charts, but they always twist a bunch of cosmopolitan ideas into something wonderfully entertaining. Plus, the group teems with the city’s best players.
