The Soho rock club — which was reopened in September by two guys I’ll call the Reopeners — has shuttered after Hill’s death, and as Page Six reported, it’s now being turned over to developers.
Well, this is what an insider tells me:
“[Reopener] had not paid Don in months, he had not paid the staff, and he had not paid the rent.
“Don was [having a legal battle over] his rent-stabilized apartment.
“Don was VERY STRESSED.”
Don, as you know, collapsed and died of a heart attack.
Yikes. I’ll be doing some more exploration into this, for Don Hill’s sake — the man and the club.
