Back in March, we noticed that Ralph’s Famous Italian Ices was planning to open a shop at the corner of East 24th Street and Lexington Avenue.
Seems that the wait is over: The folks from the 82-year-old company write in to tell us that the store opens today. It will be open daily from 11:30 a.m. until 10 p.m., no doubt to the delight of the Baruch College students right across the street. Ralph’s has numerous locations throughout Staten Island and Long Island, as well as one in Queens. For the uninitiated, they offer water ice, ice cream, and sherbets, the latter of which come in 50 different flavors that include everything from cremalata to peanut butter cookie dough.
