Each week in The Daily Shot, we have ourselves a drink that we think you should try, too.
The drink: Whiskey Apple
The bar: Van Horn Sandwich Shop (231 Court Street, Cobble Hill, 718-596-9707)
The price: $9
The ingredients: Whiskey, muddled apple, baking spices.
The buzz: When Van Horn Sandwich Shop opened, its mandate was sandwiches and cocktails. And why not? Especially when the former are as satisfying as meals and the latter are so light and refreshing you can have one in the middle of the day without feeling like a lush. Apples, whiskey, and baking spices might sound like cold-weather fare, but this crisp sipper is perfect for that between-season we’re currently in, when one day is cold and rainy and the next is hot and sunny. A pleasantly spiked apple juice like pie in a glass to while away your happy hour or lunch hour.
