Gangster’s ex girl might get 5 years in slammer
Puerto Rico’s federal prosecutor is trying to get Leavy Nin Batista, ex-wife of a gang boss, a 5-year jail sentence for criminal dealings, the Spanish-language daily reports.
Nin Batista would also get a chance at parole, as part of a plea deal.
The district attorney’s office ultimately agreed to a shortened sentence because Nin Batista, former flame of presumed gang leader Jose David Figueroa Agosto — AKA Junior Capsula — cooperated with authorities, according to El Diario.
Nin Batista fessed up, and even helped police investigate money laundering.
SHe also led cops to participants in a Puerto Rican crime ring, naming many people who’d worked with Figueroa Agosto.
She said that Agosto laundered drug money by buying real estate and cars, the paper notes.
