Daytime Emmy nominations were announced this morning, and, of course, James Franco helped lead General Hospital to a whopping 21 nominations, heading the pack. But those more culinarily inclined were also honored.
Giada at Home came away with three (Directing, Camera Editing, and Technical Direction); Rachael Ray nabbed three (Outstanding Talk Show, Talk Show Host, Camera Editing); Semi-Homemade Cooking With Sandra Lee also scored three (Directing, Hairstyling, Makeup); America’s Test Kitchen received two (Outstanding Culinary Program, and a nod to Christopher Kimball for Lifestyle/Culinary Host); The Martha Stewart Show garnered two (Outstanding Lifestyle Program, and Hosting, for Martha Stewart); Paula’s Best Dishes also got two (Outstanding Culinary Program and Paula Deen as host); and Secrets of a Restaurant Chef got two, for Outstanding Culinary Program and Anne Burrell as host. Rounding out the Outstanding Culinary Program include nominations for Avec Eric, Cook’s Country, and Lidia’s Italy, while Sandra’s Money-Saving Meals got one in Directing. Who will win is anyone’s guess (though Avec Eric just got the James Beard Award for television program on location), but Semi-Homemade Cooking With Sandra Lee should be a shoo-in for makeup. Seriously — have you seen that lady?
