As has been promised for almost a year now, Shake Shack has opened its doors in Battery Park City. And yes, it is selling neighborhood-specific concretes.
The new flavors are decidedly not for the pun-averse: There’s Wall-nut Street, which contains vanilla custard, cookie dough, walnuts, and Amarena cherries; Lower West Side, a mash-up of chocolate custard, malted marshmallow, and Mast Bros. cocoa nibs; and Downtown Butter Brown, a brawny collaboration between vanilla custard, hazelnut brown butter streusel, and seasonal fruit.
We truly hope we never see the nutritional information for any of them, but doubt the kids from nearby Stuyvesant High will care. They — and everyone else — will be able to indulge themselves seven days a week from 11 a.m. till 11 p.m. at 215 Murray Street.
