Terre Thaemlitz left the Midwest for college in NYC in the late ’80s, discovered house and transgender politics, and embarked on one of the most interesting musical careers of our time. He’s made well over a dozen albums in almost as many guises and genres, from the electroacoustic critique of gender and sexuality that was Couture Cosmetique to the DJ Sprinkles 2010 breakthrough album, Midtown 120 Blues.
