Eddie Huang Will Soon Be a Published Author


File under “Unsurprising”: The publishing world has seen fit to give Eddie Huang a book deal.

Random House announced the news yesterday by Tweeting that it had “acquired bright young chef @EddieHuang’s memoir of food, family, and the Asian-American dream.” Or, in the parlance of Publishers Marketplace (as Eater discovered), “a gonzo foodie’s journey pitched in the tradition of Anthony Bourdain and a classic immigrant coming-of-age story.” Apparently it’s going to be titled Fresh Off the Boat, just like Huang’s blog, though we’re holding out hope for Blood, Baos, and Bong Water.
