Always in character or at least smartly self-promoting, Alec Baldwin alluded today on Twitter to the morning’s rumors of a run for New York City mayor, and he didn’t exactly deny. “I wouldn’t rule it out,” his spokesman added to NBC, though he’s not registered to vote in the city, but in Suffolk County where his Hamptons house sits. Previous speculation about the actor’s ambitions floated Baldwin as a challenger for Joe Lieberman’s Connecticut Senate seat, though nothing came of it. “It’s a long way till November of 2013,” Baldwin wrote today to his 92,000+ followers. It sure is, and so for now, he’s just the new Donald Trump.
