Upper Manhattan neighborhoods are jittery after three separate sexual assaults in the past week. Above is the suspect in one attempted assault of a 32-year-old woman at West 184th Street and Broadway in Washington Heights at about 1:15 a.m. Sunday, June 12.
The guy, described as a Hispanic male about 18 to 25 years old, 5-7 and medium build, followed the woman and tried to remove her underwear. He failed, and she fled on foot.
On Saturday, however, a scumbag with a knife was more successful. He was seen on video at 184th and Bennett Avenue (only a block from the attempted rape described above). The scumbag had robbed and sexually assaulted a 37-year-old woman at knifepoint. He was described as 5-3 to 5-5 and in his early 20s.
Those two attacks followed a grim scene at Inwood Hill Park on Friday evening. Cops and CBS New York say a man in his 30s forcibly took a 28-year-old woman to a secluded part of the park and assaulted her. He is believed to have taken off afterwards on a red mountain bike. That violent jerk was described as 30 to 35, 5-7 to 5-9, and about 180 pounds.
