Ayman Al-Zawahri Is New Al Qaeda Leader; Gabrielle Giffords Released from Hospital; Park Slope Parking Spot for $60,000


• Ayman al-Zawahri, 59, who was Osama bin Laden’s second in command, is taking over his “former boss’s” job, Al Qaeda has announced. He is said to be highly intelligent, but lacking in “the charisma” of bin Laden. The BBC has some of his collected statements.
