Last month, Thistle Hill Tavern co-owner Dave Massoni told us that he would be doing “something new in the neighborhood with another chef.” No further details about his new restaurant were forthcoming, but it now appears that “another chef” is Dale Talde.
Here’s Park Slope reports that Talde, the erstwhile Buddakan chef and Top Chef contestant who was last seen orchestrating his Bodega pop-up in February, will be the restaurant’s head chef. Massoni and business partner John Bush are planning a “modern Asian” concept, and hope to open by early September. The still-unnamed restaurant will occupy a former dry cleaner’s on Seventh Avenue and 11th Street, a mere four blocks away from Thistle Hill Tavern.
