HowAboutWe, the online dating site based on what you want to do — how about we wake up early and blog together? — has pulled together information from the more than 100,000 dates posted on its site to determine the neighborhoods New Yorkers most frequently pick as date spots (at least, according to HowAboutWe daters). According to the data crunched, New York City’s 10 most popular dating spots/neighborhoods are…control your excitement…
9. Greenwich Village
8. Lower East Side
7. Hell’s Kitchen
6. Times Square
4. West Village
3. Midtown West
1. East Village
Which sounds like a lot of neighborhoods, and a lot of ground to cover within. Note, though, that Murray Hill, the Sides Upper East and West, and the Financial District (as well as most of Brooklyn and all of Queens), among other spots, have been left out of the mix, so according to HowAboutWe daters, not everything makes the cut. Astoria did get a nod for a dinner date, and Crown Heights was mentioned for “urban adventure” dates.
As for top date spot in the East Village, people like to go to Webster Hall, Max Brenner, the Crocodile Lounge, and the Strand.
