by

The New York Times has the horrifying story of a young woman in Brooklyn who was allegedly raped, forced into prostitution and “terrorized” by four men for eight years starting when she was 13. The men have now been charged with various crimes including rape, sex trafficking and compelling prostitution. Brooklyn District Attorney Charles Hynes told the Times that two of the men, Damien Crooks and Jamali Brockett, had “terrorized the child for years, preventing her from reporting the violence by threatening to harm her family if she told anyone.” [NYT]
