We’re hearing reports that R&B singer Amy Winehouse has been found dead in her North London home. The suspected cause is an alcohol or drug overdose. The singer had long been known to struggle with substance abuse issues. We’ll update when more information comes through; if you have a tip, get at us.
UPDATE 12:40 p.m.: London police have confirmed the death of Amy Winehouse. She was found in her apartment at 4.p.m. local time. The official cause of death hasn’t been released. Winehouse was 27. She is the latest member of the tragic “27 Club” of musicians who died at the age of 27, including Jimi Hendrix, Janis Joplin, and Kurt Cobain.
