Greetings From the Atlantic City Food and Wine Festival

by

A table setting awaits the largest of gamblers in this display inside the Showboat casino.

This weekend, I had the pleasure of representing The Village Voice for the second year in a row at the Food Network’s annual Atlantic City Food and Wine Festival. Here are some snapshots of that event, and please forgive me if my perspective verges on the droll.

Rocky Fino demonstrates the kind of hot two-on-one action you can expect if you buy his book, Will Cook for Sex.

At the Grand Market and Italian Village, a representative from Reynolds Wrap shakes a loaf of bread for emphasis.

One of the souvenirs of the event offers an ironic observation about foodies.

There were snacks aplenty for those who paid the $45 admission charge for the Grand Market and Italian Village, including these so-called Snack Chicks.

Everyone wants to be seen with a chef, especially if he’s former White House military chef Sam Morgante.

Even though lines were often long, it was possible to sample dozens of wines in a three-hour session at the Grand Market.

You can bet Food Network superstars the Neelys were there, too, hosting event after event, including “Blues, Brews, and BBQ,” where their own ‘cue was served, in addition to some very sophisticated microbrews, of which two were from our own Brooklyn Brewery.

Here are the Neelys’ ribs.

A timely warning
