Maharlika Opens, Softly

Maharlika, the Filipino pop-up restaurant that has made appearances in venues including 5 Ninth and Resto Leon, now has a new home on First Avenue.

EV Grieve reports that the restaurant, which is also doing a stint this month at Dekalb Market, soft-opened last Friday at 111 First Avenue, near 7th Street. In addition to staples like goat adobo, Filipino fried chicken, and pata confit, it’s also offering a happy hour. Expect comparisons to First Avenue’s other recently opened Filipino restaurant, Sa Aming Nayon, to be made sooner rather than later.
